Each year, hundreds of new partners sign on to participate in National Voter Registration Day. For some of these nonprofits, schools, libraries, businesses, and other organizations, this will be their first time hosting a voter registration drive.
Registering voters can be a fun and effective way to connect with the community, and Mentor Partners have been identified in 5 states to provide training and support to first-time partners that could use some extra help. These partners have been selected based on their commitment to National Voter Registration Day, expertise with state registration rules and engaging voters, and capacity to build supportive partnerships that can last long after National Voter Registration Day.
The 2019 Mentor Partners serve the following areas: California, Florida, New York City, Tennessee, and Texas.

We believe our democracy can only work if we vote! That’s why Florida PIRG Education Fund has a history of helping to register young people across the state. Last fall, our we trained more than 200 volunteers and helped register 9,000 young people. But, we can’t stop there. We’re excited to work with lots of other organizations so we can help reach everyone in our state and give them an opportunity to register to vote. To get involved please email Arielle Mizrahi at amizrahi@floridapirgstudents.org.

NYC Votes, the city’s official voter engagement initiative, promotes civic engagement through community outreach, voter registration and engagement programs, and educational resources. With the help of community partners and city agencies, NYC Votes brings voter registration events and civic engagement programs to all five boroughs, with a particular focus on historically disenfranchised communities, as mandated in the City Charter. Partners who sign up will receive training and materials necessary to host a successful event such as best practices and a presentation on identifying trends in turnout and registration rates across the city.
